Show 'CHURCHES . . . First Ward ... A mixed chorus from the BYU, comprising 250 voices under direction direc-tion of Dr. Franklin Madsen, will present a program of music in the First ward chapel Sunday-evening, beginning at 7 p. m., announces an-nounces Bishop Howard Maycock. It will be with considerable difficulty diffi-culty that so large a group will be brought from Provo to present a program and it is hoped that a large number of ward members and others will attend. There is no charge for the entertainment but contributions for the ward organ or-gan will be appreciated. The ree-ular Sundav evening ser- vices will be preceded by a business busi-ness meeting a 6p. m. Second Ward . . . At the Sunday evening services which will be in the form of ward conference, a new bishopric will be sustained. The meeting will begin be-gin at 7:30 and a fine musical program as also been arranged. A full attendance of ward members mem-bers is desired. Third Ward . . . Th Elders are in charge of the meeting Sunday evening and the program will feature music numbers num-bers from the Brigham Young University under direction of Lewis Lew-is W. Booth of the faculty. Included Includ-ed on the entertainment will be numbers from a string ensemble and all music lovers are invited. Fourth Ward ... F. S. Slaugh, who has just returned re-turned from two years in Arabia, will speak in the meeting Sunday evening, beginning at 6 p. m. The program will also include musical numbers and is under direction of the Stake Missionaries with Frank Springer in charge. ' Mrs. Glenn Sumsion will.give the lesson, at the meeting of the Fourth ward Relief Society Tuesday, April Ap-ril 30, to which all are invited. The Singing Mothers of the organization, orga-nization, directed by Mrs. Afton Palfreyman, will be in charge. Baptismal services will be conducted con-ducted in the Fourth ward at 3:30 p. m., Sunday for the Third, Fourth and Sixth wards. Fifth Ward . . . . The Sunday evening meeting will be under direction, of the ward High Priests and will feature fea-ture a talk by W. W. Brockbank, together with musical numbers from the B. Y. U., with Matt Ol-sen, Ol-sen, formerly of Springville, as soloist. The meeting will begin at 6 p. m., and all members of the ward are urged to attend. The Relief Society meeting- of the Fifth ward will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 p. m., instead of Monday, and will be in the form of a social complimenting members mem-bers of the Second ward organza-tion. organza-tion. The Presidency is in charge of arrangements. Mapleton Ward . . . A farewell testimonial will be given in the Mapleton ward Sun- day evening, beginning at 7 p. m., for Harold Gividen, who leaves May 6, for the mission home prior to go into the Texas-Louisiana mission. The program is under direction of the missionary committee and all members of the ward and friends are invited to attend. Elder Eld-er Gividen was recently given his discharge from the Army Air Corps. Community Church .. . There will be the usual Sunday services, as follows: 10:30 a. m. Sunday School, classes for all ages. 11:30 a. m. Preaching- service. All are welcome and urged to attend these services. |
