McCaul (Merlynne Mendenhall) have arrived ar-rived from Vineyard Haven, Mass., for a two-weeks' visit with Mrs. McCaul's parents, Mr. and Mrs. 1 S. L. Mendenhall, Jr. Dr. McCaul is stationed at the Marine hopi-tal hopi-tal at Vineyard Haven as a dentist. Harold Miner and George Bird, both of Springville, were pledged members of Alpha Kappa Psi, na-' tional professional commerce fraternity, fra-ternity, in a formal ceremony held, at Brigham Young university in the Maeser Assembly Hall, Thursday. Thurs-day. The ceremony was under the direction of Leland Stenquist of this city. Lee Olson, . also of Springville, is president. Billie Jean . Beadeson, who is employed at the state capitol, spent the week-end here as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Ed; wards. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn, accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bird, left Sunday to attend the Texas Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce state convention to be held at Dallas. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Thorpe are spending several days at a convention con-vention of the Bankers Life Ins. company at Des Moines, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. George Roylance and children and Mrs. Grace Mc-Kenzie Mc-Kenzie visited their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sper-ry Sper-ry and little son at Nephi, Sunday Sun-day and enjoyed a picnic lunch in Nephi canyon. Miss Tressa Sumsion, SC 1c, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Sumsion, plans to leave today for Corpus Christi, Tex., after a 3-weeks' 3-weeks' visit here with her parents and other relatives. She expects to be given her discharge from the WAVES in the late summer. Mr. and Mrs. Ford1 Crandall and children of Salt La,ke City, visited on Easter Sunday with his mother, Mrs. D. A. Crandall. They also visited the Art exhibit. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Sumsion, their daughter, Miss Tressa, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Brown and family of this city were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Peery at Payson. Lt. and Mrs. Erie Boorman and baby son are visiting their parents here and in Provo, on a 50-day terminal leave. Lt. Boorman recently re-cently returned from the Asiatic-Pacific Asiatic-Pacific theater and saw his baby son for the first time. His parents par-ents are Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Boorman Boor-man and his wife is the daughter of Dr. D. D. Boyer, Provo Mrs Adell H. Johnson of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Estella Wix-om Wix-om spent several days of the past week here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conover. Mrs. Johnson John-son is recovering from injuries received in an automobile accident in Salt Lake City a few weeks ago. mm Mr. and Mrs. Reese Anderson had as their Sunday guests, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Anderson and Ross Anderson of Mt. Pleasant, Ralph Anderson of Salt Lake City and Keith Anderson of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Whiting and Mr. and Mrs. Reese Anderson were in Heber City one day last week to visit Dr. and Mrs. Rex Whiting and family. Dr. Whiting has opened his office for practice in Heber. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rowland and daughters Michele and Pamela of Pocatello, Idaho and Dr. and Mrs. Myron Crandall and Dr. Myron Harrison of Salt Lake City, were Easter day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Rowland, and also visited other relatives here. Dr. Harrison was recently given his discharge from the service. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sheppard had as week-end guests, Miss Marjorie Tull of Salt Lake City, and Robert Tull of Wasatch Academy Acad-emy at Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Hazel Jacobs and Mr. and Mrs. David Holt of Spanish Fork spent the past week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Arch Groesbeck and family at Pocatello, Idaho. It was the first time they had seen Mr. Groesbeck, who is their nephew, for fourteen years m Mr. and Mrs. Don Miller, accompanied accom-panied by Jerome Cook, have gone to Los Angeles, Calif., due to the death of Mrs. Miller's brother. |
