Verl Weight, who were married in the Salt Lake temple on Wednesday, April 17. The bride was formerly Miss Gertrude Williams of Spanish Fork. GNerwlyweds Honored at Wedding ception f Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Gertrude Williams, Wil-liams, daughter of Mrs. Herbert Wlliams of Spanish Fork, to Verl F. Weight, son of G. Fred Weight of this city, which took place on Wednesday, April 17, in the Salt Lake temple. The ceremony was performed by Jesse M. Knight in the presence pres-ence of a large group of near relatives. rel-atives. Complimenting the couple, a reception re-ception was held in the Spanish Fork First ward last Thursday evening, with approximately 450 relatives and friends attending. The bride was lovely in a white satin wedding gown with lace trim and her lace-edged veil was fashioned to her head with a coronet coro-net of seed pearls. Her bouqut was of rosbuds and white daisies. Attending the bride were, Mrs. Ann Francis, matron of honor; Betty Mae Isaacs, maid of honor; Sally Anderson, Darlene Weight, Coe Jane Williams and Myrna Measom, bridesmaids. They were attired in pastel formals with corsages cor-sages in matching colors. Charles Anderson of Provo was best man. The guests were received by Mrs. Williams, mother of the bride, Herbert Willams, a brother, Mrs. Lenore Kelly, sister of the bridegroom;' bride-groom;' Fred Weight, father, and members of the wedding party. The hall was beautifully decorated deco-rated for the occasion with spring blossoms and a prettily decorated three-tiered wedding cake with tall tapers formed an attractive centerpiece for the serving table. The wedding party stood before tall, burning candelabra with flower flow-er arrangements on either side. Archie Williams, uncle of the bride, was master of ceremonies and a program and dancing featured fea-tured the entertainment. Harold Hales entertained with a vocal solo; Mattie Bellows and Lamar Tuckett, a vocal duet; Mrs. Florence Huntington, advice to the newlyweds; Gertrude Kra-ner, Kra-ner, Salt Lake City, a piano solo; Gladys Christmas, a vocal solo. In charge of the gift room at the wedding were Mrs. Maggie Crump and Mrs. Vere Shelton. Serving was by Marva Waters, Thelma Waters, Mary Jane Jar-vis, Jar-vis, Betty Dee Grow, Merlene Mc Kell, Lorna Paulsen, Carol Lar-sen, Lar-sen, Mattie Bellows, and Coe Jane Williams. The newlyweds are making their home at Brookside. |
