Show COLLEGE TREND STRESSES WORLD NEEDS Plans for broadening the scope of American education with stress on courses dealing with national and international affairs were advanced ad-vanced this week as several colleges col-leges had announced special revisions revi-sions of curricula. Meanwhile, strong support for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural organization organiza-tion had developed at recent hearings hear-ings before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. This organization which will operate op-erate under the auspices of the United Nations Social and Economic Eco-nomic Council, will be launched when 20 nations have approved it. Through UNESCO, student ex-' changes will be encouraged, books and other publication will be interchanged, in-terchanged, and an attack on the high illiteracy rate in many countries coun-tries of the world will be undertaken. under-taken.
