Mrs. May Bird came from Salt Lake City to spend the Lab3r day holiday with her children here and also visited a daughter and husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harmer at Payson. . Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Berrett have returned from a delightful vacation trip to the west coast. They were gone about two weeks. Mrs. Bert Strong and children and Mrs. Margaret Miner have visited for the past two weeks at Yellowstone, where Mr. Strong is working on a new job. 1 ' Mr. and Mrs. John Stark recently recent-ly returned from adelightful vacation vaca-tion trip to the Northwest and Canada. Mrs. L. K. Harper and son Kent Harper of Redlands, Calif., have been visiting with Mrs. Harper's mother, Mrs. Jonena Fullmer and other relatives and friends here. Kent came especially to enroll at the University of Utah. 1 (Paragraphs Ol) (Interest . . j Dr. and Mrs. Nephi Packard, former residents of Springville, who are now living at Roy, Utah, visited their daughter Mrs. A. G. Johnson and husband and friends in Springville the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sandberg and daughter of Santa Barbara, Calif., were visitors the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Ander7 son. Mr. Sandberg is a nephew of Mr. Anderson. Approximately fifty friends and relatives were in Provo Thursday evening to attend the wedding and reception of Miss Annette Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown formerly of Springville and Mark Graham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Graham. The marriage took place in St. Mary's Episcopal church and a reception followed in the garden of the Brown home. Don L. Ollerton, seaman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Ollerton, Oller-ton, Springville, is serving aboard the destroyer USS Leary which has just been awarded the Battle Efficiency Pennant and "E" for her general excellence throughout the fiscal year July 1, 1947 to July 1, 1948. This qualifies him to wear the Battle Efficiency "E" badge on his uniform, an old peacetime practice in the Navy revived with this recent award. Dr Clair W. Judd and family have ' been vacationing at Hotel El Rancho Vegas, Las Vegas, Nevada. Nev-ada. Dr. Judd was also in Cedar City to attend the Utah State Medical convention. While in southern Nevad, the Judds visited Boulder Dam, the Lake Mead recreational re-creational area and enjoyed lake and river fishing. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cherrington visited over the weekend in Springville. Spring-ville. They are making their home for a few months in Elko, Nev., where Mr. Cherrington is employed em-ployed with the J. M. Sumsion Construction company. Mrs. Lee Bjarnson has returned to her home in San Diego, Calif., following a visit during the summer sum-mer with relatives and friends in Springville. She wishes to be remembered re-membered to the M I. A. girls of the First ward with whom she spent some delightful times and also bids her friends farewell. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Byers arrived ar-rived here recently from Pasadena, Pasa-dena, Calif., to make their home, |
