Show City Ball Park Improvements Give Impetus To Sport A T With the beginning of improving improv-ing and rearranging the city ball park, with added lighting and seating capacity and landscaping of the ground, the city recreation committee and Springville City will boast one of the nicest parks for both Softball and baseball. The improvement of the park will provide the impetus for an already planned girls' Softball team and the seeking of an amateur ama-teur state softball league and tournament as well as providing baseball games here. ' Through the cooperation of the Recreation Board and interested I sport fans, an invitation to partic- I ipate in a new girls' league is be- I ing sent to Provo, Murray, Gar- j field, Salt Lake, Ogden, Heber, Helper, Price, Spanish Fork, Coalville, Coal-ville, Lehi, American Fork, and i Payson. A meeting of representa- tives from these and possibly oth er cities, is being called for March ; 12 in the Springville City Hall to discuss the formation of a state league for girls. In connection with the Softball program planned, a baseball club i will be sponsored by Springville along with the regular commercial teams and church softball teams. The program is in keeping with ! the Centennial sports program of making greater attractions for the sports fans during the year to ; boost Utah. |
