Show CAMP KOLOB D. U. P. GIVES DELIGHTFUL PARTY As a last social function before members joined the newly organized orga-nized groups, Camp Kolob D. U. P. gave a party last Thursday evening eve-ning in the First ward church with their partners attending as special guests. Approximately seventy-five seventy-five members and guests were seated at long tables for a sumptuous sumptu-ous chicken dinner served early in the evening. During the meal, six of the camp's older members, Mrs. Julia Dallin, Mrs. Patience Clark, Mrs. Mary E. Sanford, Mrs. Sarah Dalton, Mrs. Ellen Crandall and Mrs. Eliza Boyer, were honored hon-ored with presentation of a lovely corsage to each. The entertainment was under direction of Mrs. Florence Boyer, camp, captain, with Mrs. Flossie Sanford, master of ceremonies. Following the dinner, the group assembled in the Relief Society room where a delightful program was given. Mrs. Gertrude Clements Clem-ents entertained with readings; Mrs. Mildred Giles and daughter Ardith, accordian and guitar selections; se-lections; Mrs. Myrtle Conover, a reading, Mrs. Minerva Weight, a reading; Ralph B. Weight, cornet solo; a double trio, composed of Mrs. Florence Boyer, Mrs. Lola Weight, Mrs. Grace Loveridge, Mrs. Mary Weight, Mrs. Erva Childs, Mrs. Olive Miller, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Ida Bird gave several sev-eral vocal selections. Mrs. Alice Davis gave a toast to the men and Harlan Boyer responded with a toast to the women. Mrs. Julia Dallin, oldest D. U. P. member in attendance, gave a short history of her life and the camp. Mrs. Boyer explained that the camp was recently divided and that hereafter those members who live in the Sixth ward will be members of the newly organized camp in that ward, while those in the Fifth ward will become members mem-bers of the new Fifth ward camp. |
