Show G. I. INSURANCE DEADLINE SET Reinstatement privileges for about 10 million World War H veterans who have permittd their national service life insurance to lapse this week were authorized when President Harry S. Truman signed legislation extending the Feb. 1 reinstatement deadline to Aug. 1. The liberal reinstatement provisions pro-visions applying before Feb. 1 will continue until the August deadline, dead-line, according to E. A. Littlefield, Utah regional manager, Veterans administration. NSLI term policies may be reinstated, he said, by payment pay-ment of two premiums, provided holders are in as good health as at time the policies lapsed. Under provisions of the new act, veterans may convert their term insurance to any of the six permanent policies if totally disabled dis-abled irrespective of how long the insurance has been held. All NSLI policies provide for a waiver of premiums for vets who become totally disabled for six or more consecutive months. |
