Show "Holiday In Mexico" Has Flock of New Song Hits Bringing a flock of new song hits to the screen, "Holiday in Mexico," M-G-M's latest Technicolor Technicol-or musical, opens at the Rivoli Theater Sunday, also showing on Monday and Tuesday. It is headed by Walter Pidgeon, Jose Iturbi, Roddy McDowall, Jane Powell, Ilona Massey and Xavier Cugat. Set against the colorful background back-ground of Mexico City, "Holiday in Mexico," tells the story of an American ambassador, played by Pidgeon, and his charming 15-year old daughter played by Miss Powell. Pow-ell. Her romantic entanglements, plus her efforts to manage the social . affairs of the Embassy, weave into a gay musical plot. The music ranges from operatic selections, sung , by Miss Powell, to boogie-woogie arrangements of nursery rhymes performed by Iturbi. |
