Show NEW HONORS COME TO TALENTED FORMER RESIDENT x Mrs. Marie Clark Miller, who was recently elected second vice-president vice-president and drama chairman of the Schubert Club of Los Angeles, Calif., is another home-town individual in-dividual who has made good in a big way and whom Springville is proud to claim. Mrs. Milfer recently won second prize for a one-act comedy, "The Corsage," which she wrote the past winter and entered in a Los Angeles play contest. With her son -Jimmie, professional profes-sional entertainer, Mrs. Miller appears ap-pears in numerous dramatic entertainments enter-tainments on the coast, a recent offering being, "Hi-Light Scenes Prom. Current Stage and Movie I Plays," sponsored by the Drama Hour at the Philanthropy and Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles as well as on other stages. Next month, they plan to do a 1949 Variety Revue composed by Mrs. Miller. In addition t5 her dramatic Work, Mrs. Miller finds time to Wt"ite and paint, many towns-People towns-People having read her recent illu-stated illu-stated book of verse for children Published in the east. A former instructor of art in Springville city and high schools, Mrs. Miller has for many years been a contributor to the annual national April art exhibit. "Home work," one of three paintings Which had previously hung in two Juried exhibits in Los Angeles, was nug in a' prominent place in the west gallery of Springville's 1948 national exhibit and was the subject sub-ject of much fine comment. |
