Show Moyra Ullock Is Wed To Cluff Hopla MRS. HAROLD ALLEMAN WAS HOSTESS FRIDAY to members Of the Mothers' Study club at her home, with President Beth Barrett in charge. The afternoon's program was featured by a travelogue on Canada, Can-ada, given in an interesting manner man-ner by Mrs. Bertha Roberts of Provo. Pro-vo. The Misses Myrtle and Louise Childs entertained with a vocal duet and Carol Ann Alleman gave a vocal solo. Theo Childs was accompanist. ac-companist. President Barrett also gave a poem. Refreshments were served at the close of the program to a large group of club members and two guests. CAMP AARON JOHNSON D. U. P. MEETING last Thursday was conducted in the form of a Christmas program and social at the home of Mrs. Catherine Cather-ine Sumsion, with the camp cheer leaders in charge and Captain Josie Alleman conducting. Gordon Childs and Robert Thorn entertained with an instrumental duet; Mrs. Crystal Poulsen, readings, read-ings, and Mrs. Mae Smith and Mrs. Catherine Sumsion, a vocal duet. At the close of the meeting, refreshments re-freshments were served and Santa Claus visited the camp to distribute distri-bute gifts to each member and guest. The payment of taxes, looked upon as a burden by some people, is the price we pay for the blessings bless-ings of modem civilization. What we get is cheap at the price we pay. S Mr. and Mrs. Abe Ullock of this city announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Moyra Ullock, to Cluff E. Hopla, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hopla of Mapleton. The ceremony was performed in the Salt Lake temple on Friday, December 12, with President Chip-man Chip-man officiating. The bride recently graduated from the L. D. S. nurses' training school and is at present employed as a surgical nurse in the L. D. S. hospital. Mr. Hopla is a former student of the Brigham Young university, Provo, and is now working on his Master's degree at the University of Utah. The young couple are making their home in Salt Lake City. LUELLA HUNTINGTON WAS HOSTESS to a number of friends at her home on Monday evening on the occasion of her eighteenth birthday. A delicious luncheon was served serv-ed at one long table which held a beautifully decorated birthday cake as a centerpiece. Lovely Christmas favors marked places for Cecelia Maycock, Louise Clyde, Wilna Brown, Marjorie Simkins, Helen Christensen, Lucille Oakley, and the hostess. Social chat and music were other diversions of the evening eve-ning and the group presented Lu-ella Lu-ella with a lovely gift. Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Bearnson have arrived home from San Luis Obis-jo. Obis-jo. Calif. Mr. Bearnson was recently re-cently released from the U. S. army service, in which he held the rank of captain. |
