Show Reception Honors Newly Wedded Couple Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Butler of this city announce the marriage of their daughter, Grace, to Harold Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johnson of Spanish Fork, which took place at Evanston, Wyo., November No-vember 21. Honoring the young couple, a wedding reception was held in the Fourth ward amusement hall, with a program, dancing and refreshments refresh-ments featuring the occasion. The bride wore a beautiful satin gown with a fingertip veil caught to her head with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white calli-lilies. Mrs. Ernest Holt was matron of honor and she work a pink chiffon formal. Maid of honor, Shirley Reynolds, Rey-nolds, wore pink taffeta. The bridesmaids, brides-maids, Gloria Bowen of Spanish Fork, wore blue net; LaReta Butler, But-ler, yellow French organdy; La-Vern La-Vern Gromeze of Cedar City, yellow yel-low organdy. Each ihad a corsage of corresponding colors. Milo Adams of Spanish Fork was best man. Receiving the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johnson, and members of the wedding party. In charge of the gifts were Mrs. Genevieve Miller, assisted by Marilyn Clark and Marjorie Child. LaRue Mower directed the serving, assisted by La Von Reynolds and Betty Lou Palfreyman. Merle Sargent was master of ceremonies and announced- a fine program for the evening. Approximately Approxi-mately 200 relatives and friends attended. The couple have gone to Hollywood, Holly-wood, Calif, to make their home. , THE LEGION AUXILIARY GAVE AN ENTERTAINMENT in the form of a Christmas program pro-gram and social honoring their daughters on Wednesday evening at Memorial hall, directed by President Pres-ident Marjorie Frandsen. Mrs. Minnie Groesbeck gave an interesting Christmas story; Nana Lee Reynolds, piano selections, and Nadine Burt, Christmas readings. A huge decorated Christmas tree stodd in one corner of the entertaining enter-taining room and at the close of the entertainment Christmas gifts were distributed from the tree to each daughter. Refreshments suggestive sug-gestive of the holidays were served serv-ed to approximately 70 members and guests. Hostesses included Mrs. Vilate Reynolds, Mrs. Esther Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Bell Sumsion, Mrs. Dorothy Doro-thy Smith, Mrs. LaPreal Friel, and Mrs. Manilla Brown. THE MAPLETON CAMP, D. U. P., ENTERTAINED at a delightful and nicely arranged Christmas party on Thursday evening eve-ning in the Mapleton banquet hall. The long dining table was beautifully beau-tifully decorated with poinsettias and other Christmas motifs and places were arranged for a large crowd of D. U. P. members, all of whom came attired in old-fashioned costumes. During the evening, Mrs. Rose Curtis gave an interesting lesson on "Early Bands and Orchestras," and other splendid numbers were also given. In conclusion the group exchanged secret pal Christmas gifts. In charge of the program were Mrs. Pearl Holley, Mrs. Eva Bird, Mrs. Henrietta Harmer and Mrs. Ida Whiting. Mrs. Myra Murray had charge of the banquet, assisted assist-ed by Mrs. Emily Jordan and Mrs. Christian Sorenson. CURRENT STUDY CLUB MEMBERS WERE GUESTS of Faughn Nielson at a delightful party at the Edna Mae Hedquist home in Provo, Monday night. Following a delicious luncheon employing attractive Christmas table decorations, Mrs. Mae Huntington Hun-tington in pleasing manner reviewed review-ed the book, "The Keys to the Kingdom." Attending were Elda Hansen, Prudence Wride, Ellen Sessions, Rea Straw, Faye Bearnson, Grace Parker, Nell Matley, Bertha Bearnson, Bearn-son, Mattie Davis, . Minerva Johnson, John-son, Lillian McKenzie, Melba Sumsion,. Sum-sion,. Eileen Page, Lathel Gibbons and Clara Johnson, the latter three being special guests. The club will hold its Christmas Party on Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Rea Straw. CAMP KOLOB, D. U. P., MET THURSDAY at their annual Christmas program and social at the home of Mrs. Maude Ferguson, with Mrs. Patience Pa-tience Clark, Mrs. Gertrude Clements, Cle-ments, Mrs. Mary Weight and Jfrs. Bertha Rothwell as assisting hostesses. Mrs. Flossie Sanford gave a history of her grandparents and Mrs. Ellen Crandall a history of er grandmother. The lesson on Early Music and Bands," was g'ven by Mrs. Malinda Sumsion. Orval Dallin entertained with a harmonica selection. At the close of the program, lunch was served and during the serving Santa Claus appeared to tribute gifts to each one pres-e"t. pres-e"t. including 37 members and guests. Captain Emma Beardall was in arge of the meeting, with Mrs. 'orence Boyer conducting. |
