Show New Schools Are Planned For Springville District Plan Proposes To Increase School Facilities In This City To Take Care of Population Increase Following a study of school facilities, which it is believed will have to be practically doubled to take care of the increase in population in this vicinity due Sto the steel expansion program, local civic leaders with, L. A. Niel-son, Niel-son, school board member, have outlined a proposed school building build-ing plan. The new plan submitted at a meeting of the Nebo school district board of education at Spanish Fork last evening, calls for construction of a new 12-room elementary grade school, a new 10-room grade school, and a new junior high school, in addition to remodeling of the high school auditorium. At Mapleton, it is planned to either add to the present building or construct a new school as the need requires, Mr. Nielson said. Appointed to work with the local board member and the school board on the building program are E. A. Strong, C. G. Salisbury and W. W. Brockbank, representing the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce and other civic groups. It is expected arrangements will . go forward by the board whereby application will be made for federal fed-eral funds with which to carry out the proposed school building plans. |
