Show Miss Mildred Fry Wed In Temple Rites " . CAMP SPRINGVILLE, D. U. P., HAD A PROGRAM in the form of a Christmas social last Thursday in the Fourth ward Relief society hall. A large crowd attended and as each one arrived they were presented with a rose by Mrs. Lela Sumsion, as a Christmas token. The program included a lesson les-son on "Early Music and Bands and Orchestras of Springville," given by Mrs. Lena Maycock and in connection with the lesson Mrs. Bell Child displayed an early day band suit owned by the late David Wheeler. Mrs. Flora McKenzie also gave in an interesting manner man-ner the history of Mrs. Ellen McKenzie, Mc-Kenzie, pioneer of this city and a charter member of the camp. Santa Claus appeared at the close of the program and tasty refreshments were served. Hostesses included Mrs. Net Thorn, Mrs. Mary Whitehead, White-head, Fannie Rowland, Mrs. Reba Reynolds, Mrs. Rose Blackett, Mrs. Lois Martindale and Mrs. Agnes Laney. An interesting nuptial event of this week is the marriage of Miss Mildred Fry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fry of this city, and Milton G. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Johnson of Provo. The ceremony was performed on Tuesday in the Salt Lake temple, and was witnessed by the parents of the groom. Complimenting the young couple, cou-ple, a wedding reception was held in the First ward hall on Wednesday Wednes-day evening, to which a large crowd of relatives and friends were invited. The bride is a graduate of the local high school and the seminary. semin-ary. Mr. Johnson graduated from the Lincoln high school and was a former student of the B. Y. U. He recently graduated from aviation training service at Los Angeles, Calif. They will make their home in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Oakley arrived in Springville the past week from Kansas City, to spend a short time. |
