Show WORK UNDERWAY ON NEW LOCAL STORE BUILDING Harrison Hotel Razed To Make Room For Modern Store Building On Main Street An old landmark, the Harrison Hotel, as familiar perhaps to many early day travelers as to townspeople, towns-people, has given way to the progress pro-gress of modern times. The building has been razed and in its place a modern up-to-date department store is being constructed con-structed by W. W. Clyde, local contractor. The building is to be occupied by the J. C. Penney company- store. Of modern design, the building will be of brick construction, one story high, and will feature at completion com-pletion the most modern equipment and fixtures available for a store building. A large crew of workmen are being employed and the building build-ing will be completed at the earliest possible date. The new store building is one of a number of new building enterprises enter-prises expected to get underway soon to accomodate the anticipated increase in the city's population. |
