Show LOCAL MAN IS RE-ELECTED BEET ASS'N. HEAD L. G. Sumsion of this city was re-elected president of the Utah Central Beet Growers' association at a meeting in the city and county coun-ty building at Provo on Saturday afternoon. Paul Blackhurst of Pleasant Grove and Harold Simmons Sim-mons of Payson were named vice-presidents. vice-presidents. These men constitute the board of directors and will be retained for a period of two years. Simmons replaces the representative representa-tive from Delta. The directors later named Ed Thomas of Palmyra as secretary. President Sumsion made a report re-port at the meeting on the condition condi-tion of the sugar beet industry in this vicinity, stating that the sugar company was anxious to reopen the factory at Spanish Fork next year. Mr. Sumsion also reported on his recent attendance at the National Na-tional Beet Growers' convention at Twin Falls, Idaho, stating that the organization was behind the government gov-ernment 100 per cent in its defense work. |
