Show VISITING TEAMS DEFEAT DEVILS Coach Art Hughes' Red Devils gave the Granite five a hard fight in the second practice game of the season here Tuesday night. The score ended 25-20 in favor of Granite, Gran-ite, and gave the local team some fine experience. Although the Devils didn't come out on top, the game proved they will be tough contenders for the district hoop title this year. The Springville boys also dropped drop-ped a practice game to the sharp-shooting sharp-shooting Davis Darts of Kaysville here Saturday night, 23 to 29. The Darts grabbed an early lead and held that lead throughout through-out the entire contest. Both teams played a tight five-man defense which kept set-ups at a premium. After a bad first half, Coach Art Hughes' boys came back to hold the Davis club on even terms, but were unable to overcome the six points chalked up against them. For Springville, Teasy Teasdale kept the Devils in the running, as did Blaine Johnson, elongated center, cen-ter, and Glen Clark, who played a good defensive game. |
