Show SCRAP METAL IS SENT IN FROM DISTANT WAR ZONES Thousands of tons of scrap metal, met-al, some of jt received from far-flung far-flung battlefronts, are returning to the war zones in new form to blast the enemy again as the result re-sult of the Army's own ceaseless salvage program, it was reported today at the headquarters of General Gen-eral David McCoach, Jr., Commanding Com-manding General of the Ninth Service Ser-vice Command, at Fort Douglas, Utah. A scrap metal report for August Aug-ust showed that during that month the Ninth Service Command's posts, camps, and stations collected 3,268 gross tons (of 2,240 pounds each) of war-necessary ferrous scrap, consisting of iron and steel! |
