Show NOTICE 'Where Shall I Begin To Read the Bible?" That's a question that is heard over and over again. Many urge beginners to start with the Gospel of Mark. Its swift moving account of the life of Christ gives a fine starting point, combining all three elements enjoyment, instruction, and inspiration Then follow that with the two books of Luke the Gospel that bears his name and the Acts of the Apostles mingling that read-ng read-ng with some selected Psalms. Then the Proverbs, and perhaps per-haps accompany that with Matthew's Mat-thew's Gospel, since Proverbs makes rather slow going if read steadily. Then you are ready for the greatest love story ever told the jospel of John. From there on, the Bible should have captured you and you should be able to find your way around and be at home in its pages. |
