Show HUBS SPONSOR MEETING ON SIXTH WAR LOAN l'roi;r:iiii Features Talks l Visiting Sonleemon Ami Vh -Hires Of The War Among local events designed to stimulate interest in Sixth War Loan purchases, was the meeting meet-ing Monday evening at Memorial ha'.l. of the four major civic clubs including the Kiwanis club, the Junior t'hamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce and the Legion. The meeting was under direction direc-tion of Chairman J. W. Grant of the Sixth War Loan committee and featured talks by visiting service ser-vice boys and local officials. Sgt. Darwin Johnson told of his experiences during 34 months in India, and Floyd Crandall told of his stay in the South Pacific. Don Frandsen. home from Texas, also spoke briefly, and C. G. Salisbury Salis-bury talked on the bond drive. In connection with the program of short talks, a number of moving mov-ing picture slides, including the invasion of the Marshall Islands and others, were shown by the B. Y. I. Extension division. Approximately 100 club members mem-bers attended the meeting. |
