Show MEMORIAL RITES SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 3 Memorial services, dedicated to Western families who have suffered suf-fered World War n casualties, will be conducted at all Ninth Service Ser-vice Command installations Sunday, Sun-day, Dec. 3, Major General William Wil-liam E. Shedd, commanding general, gen-eral, announced today at Fort Douglas, Utah. Services will be non-secretarian, the general said, and will be held for all families irrespective of creed, race or nationality. Friends of "Gold Star" families, as well as residents in the vicinity of Ninth Service Command posts, camps and stations are invited to attend, he added. A request to pledge "Dedication "Dedica-tion of Our Lives," so that the sacrifice of American youths was not in vain, will be made by Army chaplains during the services. Civilian clergymen in areas adjacent ad-jacent to military installations will be asked to conduct similiar memorial services for the families of war casualties residing in their respective locales, Colonel J. L. Blakeney, NSC Chaplain, said. |
