Fourteen club members were in attendance. at-tendance. The girls enjoyed a delicious Easter luncheon served at small tables employing spring flowers as decorations, and later spent the time with social conversation. A SPECIAL MEETING OF DELPHIAN MEMBERS was held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Catherine D. Wills, president pres-ident of the Mt. Maple chapter. Special topics were taken up to complete the regular program before be-fore the close of the season. The Utah Assembly of Delphians ! be guests of the Springville Mt. Maple chapter of Delphian so- Iciety at a tea and tour of the high school art galleries on Saturday, announces President Catherine D. Wills. The entertainment will be : in the afternoon following a lunch-I lunch-I eon given by the Provo chapter. The guests will be received by President Wills, Mrs. F. V. Martin Mar-tin Mrs. Milan R. Straw, Mrs. V ' W Clyde, Mrs. C. G. Salisbury, Salis-bury, and Mrs. G. Ray Hales. Other members of the local organization organi-zation will assist with the entertainment. enter-tainment. The serving room will be appropriately ap-propriately decorated for the occasion oc-casion with early spring blossoms, and reservations have been made to specially conduct the group through the art galleries. A large group of guests, including state officials and representatives from practically every Delphian organization organ-ization in the state, are expected. MR AND MRS. BERT WHITING ENTERTAINED AT DINNER at their home in Mapleton Sunday Sun-day for their son, Rex Whiting, and his wife, who were recently married at Phoenix, Ariz. A lovely centerpiece of roses was used on the dining table and covers were arranged for the fol-m. fol-m. lowing guests: Mr. and Mrs. V, C. Merrell and daughter, Nelda, of 1 Phoenix, Ariz., Dr. and Mrs. Quinn I Whiting of Castlegate; Loeen j Crandall, Neill Whiting, Mr. and . MRS. EVELYN JORDAN ' WAS HOSTESS MONDAY to members of the Ad Libitum club. A nicely arranged dinner was served early in the evening at one long table beautifully decorated with spring flowers. The meal was served by candlelight, with covers arranged for Gertie Ruff, Bernice Angle, Ida Flom, Beth Miller, Fern Senior, guests, and Dona Jones, Jane Strong, Lola Jensen, Wanda Peay, Elaine Crandall, Helen Rowland, Row-land, and Ercel Clark, members. Bridge followed the dinner and for the games prizes were awarded award-ed to Mrs. Ruff and Mrs. Jones. AVE DELMA CLUB MEMBERS WERE GUESTS of Mrs. Birdie Thorpe at her home on Thursday evening. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served early employing an attractive Easter decorative scheme. Three tables of bridge were played and prizes for the games went to Mrs. Gladys Averett, Aver-ett, Mrs. Carrie Jolley, and Mrs. Gwen Cutler. Mrs. Afton Palfrey-man Palfrey-man was a special guest. MR. AND MRS. EDWARD CLYDE ENTERTAINED on Friday evening at their home complimenting their daughter and her husband, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Pace. Covers were arranged for Dr. and Mrs. Garland H. MABEL WRIGHT WAS CLUB HOSTESS to members of the Jeune Mere j; j club at her home on Wednesday I evening. PARI-PASSU CLUB MET FRIDAY EVENING at the home of Mrs. Glen Law, with the president, Mrs. Max Sumsion, in charge. A report on the First ( district convention held in Provo recently was given by Mrs. Lewis Harmer. Mrs. LaRell Johnson and Mrs. Kay Johnson were named delegates to the state convention in Salt Lake City, April 9-10. Naomi Weight was named club historian. A talk on "Spiritual Rearmament" Rearma-ment" was given by Miss Beth Miller, and was preceded by a one-minute one-minute silent tribute to the boys in the armed forces. Luncheon was served employing sweet peas as decorations, to twelve club members and Mrs. Jerry Manson of San Diego, Calif., a charter member, who was a special spe-cial guest. THE CURRENT STUDY CLUB MET ON MONDAY at a dinner at Valley Tavern and later went to the art exhibit at the high school, where Mrs. Mae Huntington 'talked on the pictures in the exhibit. Members in attendance were Minerva Johnson, Melba Sumsion, Faye Bearnson, Prudence Wride, Mrs. Elda Johnson, Bertha Bearnson, Bearn-son, Mrs. Lillian McKenzie, Mattie Davis, Nell Matley, Grace Parker, and Faughn Nielson. |
