Show Boxelder Bugs Troublesome? Call County Agent Boxelder bugs are a serious winter win-ter nuisance in many homes, offices of-fices arid school rooms of this county, coun-ty, points out Joel C. Barlow, ass't. Utah county agricultural agent. Chlordane, DDT and kerosene sprays are useful for boxelder bug control in summer. However, these must be applied as stronger sprays to kill the adult boxelder bugs in the winter. Best time to apply control con-trol in the winter is when the bugs congregate during the warm part of the day to sun themselves on south or west walls of buildings, Mr. Barlow indicates. Latest boxelder bug control recommendations re-commendations are now available in the new Utah Extension Circular 163, "Controlling Boxelder Bugs." Published by the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural College Extension Service, this circular is available without cost at the county agent's office in Provo. If boxelder bugs are annoying you, a phone call or postal card to the county extension office will bring this new publication to your aid, the agent promises.. |
