Show Hobby Show Seen By 700 People Nearly 700 adults and young people including a number of school children attended the Hobby Show on Wednesday afternoon and evening last week, in the Third-Ninth Third-Ninth ward church, the event being be-ing sponsored by the Elders Quorum Quor-um of the Third ward. Most of the hobby displays were from Springville and were especially espec-ially interesting. Also Mrs. Fran-chon Fran-chon Johnson came from Glendaie, Calif., to exhibit her Queen Elizabeth Eliza-beth doll valued at near $500. The doll's head, in striking likeness to Queen Elizabeth, came from England Eng-land and is of bone china. The gown was exquisitely embroidered in emblems of the crown colonies and is an eixact replica of the one worn by the English queen for the coronation. It was complete with purple robe, gold wheat and olive branch ensignia; jeweled crown, diamond earings and necklace and jeweled sceptor, sword and orb. Mrs. Franchon also brought with her many other items including a Japanese doll festival and many other things, the whole valued at more than $2000. It would be impossible im-possible to mention the many hobbies hob-bies but the Elders quorum were so pleased with the response and the requests to continue the show, that they have plans for another such event to give others an opportunity to exhibit their hobbies. |
