Show ! Companions Club Has Mothers Day Social A lovely party for their mothers moth-ers and other guests was given by members of the Companians Club at Social Center Thursday evening. Dinner was served early at long tables with decorations of spring flowers and favors for the guests. Mrs. Annalee Strong, club president presi-dent welcomed the ladies and Mrs. Evelyn Robbins gave a tribute to mothers. Her mother, Mrs. Mary Reed responded. A review of the life and works of the great musician Tchaikovsky was given in fine manner by Mrs. Mary Bird who also played his recordings. re-cordings. Mrs. Eileen Bird gave violin selections and Mrs. Frances Clark vocal numbers by the noted composer. Attending as special guests of of the club were Florence Boyer, Mrs. Otto Ivey, Thelma Cherring-ton, Cherring-ton, Ethel Giles, Blanch Beal, Alice Davis, Hazel Roylance, Florence Allan, Lee Done, Olive Noakes, Ada Howlett, Mary Reed, LaDean, Lillian Thorpe, LaRue Walker, Myrna Giles, Edna Giles, Emma Jacobsen, Fron Thorn, Jennie Johnson, Helen Bird, and honorary club members Mrs. Mae Huntington, Hunting-ton, Mrs. Frances Clark and Mrs. Mary Bird. In charge of arrangements for the party were Mary Martindale, general chairman, assisted by Elaine Puckett and Donna Knute-son. |
