Show ! Robert C. Vose of Boston Writes His Appreciation The folowing letter was received receiv-ed by the Herald this week: April 15, 1952 The Editor-The Editor-The Springville Herald Springville, Utah Dear Sir: I want to thank you for giving our painting, "An Adirondack Torrent" by Homer D. Martin, N. A., which is one of the group we have loaned to the Springville high school exhibition, such a .beautiful .beauti-ful reproduction and complimentary complimen-tary notice. We appreciate your doing this and wish to compliment you on the beautiful reproduction. This is not the first time I have been impressed with the reproductions reproduc-tions in your paper, which I will say are much finer than the average aver-age in our Boston papers. I am very glad that you support sup-port the Springville High School so splendidly. Their exhibitions would be a credit to any museum in the country; they are devoted entirely to serious art, and their directors have the taste and brains not to be intrigued by the absurd fads which make some of the lar-"ger lar-"ger museums the laughing stock of those who are interested in true art. About three years ago, I had a most pleasant call from the Editor (and his wife) of a Utah paper; I am wondering if you could be he. I am sorry I have forgotten his name, for we remember re-member that call with much pleasure. plea-sure. (Mr. and Mrs. -Conover call ed on Mr. Vose following attendance attend-ance at. the N.E.A. convention in Boston.) Again I wish to thank you . . . ' Sincerely yours, Robert C. Vose |
