Show Jown . . . Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Metcalf and daughter Merry, and son Sammy Sam-my were in Ogden Sunday to see the little new son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Metcalf, born July 7. The little boy has two sisters and they have been spending the past two weeks in Springville with their grandparents, Mr. and, Mrs. Metcalf Met-calf and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Rob-bins. Rob-bins. Maiben Christensen and Stanley Stoopes of this city left Wednes-! Wednes-! day evening for Boulder City j where they will visit the Cross-I Cross-I Bar dial telephone plant. The two men with their families recently moved to Springville from Salt Lake City and are going to a training train-ing school in Provo in preparation for operation of the new dial telephone tele-phone systems in Provo and Orem. Mr. Christensen's wife is the former for-mer Anna Beardall. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Metcalf have had as their guests Mrs. Met-calf's Met-calf's mother, Mrs. Ruth McCam-mon; McCam-mon; her grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Mag-gie Smith and an aunt, Mrs. Olive Smith all of Mansfield, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Mendenhall and two sons of Las Vegas, Nev." have returned to their home following fol-lowing a visit with Mrs. Menden-hall's Menden-hall's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Maur-ice Metcalf and with Kay's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Deal Mendenhall Menden-hall and other relatives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur 3. Rich had the pleasure of a visit, last week, by their grandson Robert W. Crapser, his wife and their son Stevie, 2y2 years old, of Chicago, also Lillian's mother of Grand Rapids, Ra-pids, Mich. From here they went to Lake Tahoe to visit his uncle, Don Rich, thence to Yosemite, Sequoia, Se-quoia, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Zion Nat'l Park and Bryce Canyon, Can-yon, Zion Nat'l. Park and Bryce Canyon. Mr. Crapser is director of art department of Interstate Advertising Ad-vertising corporation. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Russell enjoyed en-joyed a weekend visit from two brothers and a sister of Mr. Rus-sells Rus-sells including Mrs. Gladys Williams Wil-liams of Salt Lake City J. C. Rus-sel. Rus-sel. of Ogden and E. L. Russell of Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Blanch Beal has returned from a few days visit in Nephi with a sister Mrs. Florence Winn. She was there also for the Ute Stampede celebration. This week she has had as guests another sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Myrtle Ault and daughter daugh-ter Shirla of Holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hansen and daughter Jeanne have returned return-ed from a most' enjoyable two-weeks two-weeks trip east. They visited a son and brother, Fred Hansen and family in South Bend, Ind., and then went, on to Sandusky to see a daughter and sister and her husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fisher (Freda Hansen) and family. They spent several days sight-seeing and took an enjoyable boat trip to major ma-jor islands in Lake Erie including South Bass on which is located the famous Perry Memorial monument. monu-ment. The Hansens and the Fishers Fish-ers also took a trip to Niagara Falls by way of Canada and on their way home came through the Black Hills of Dakota and Yellowstone Yellow-stone Park. v 1 Fourth ward Relief Society members were entertained with a review of the book, "But the Morning Morn-ing Will Come," by Sid Sumners, given by Mrs. Blanch Beal, Tuesday Tues-day afternoon. President Minnie Groesbeck was in charge: Zenos Manvvaring, in company with Elden Stewart of Fairview, have returned from an interesting trip to Yellowstone Park. Besides viewing the wonders of Yellowstone, Yellow-stone, which included some close visits from the bear, they traveled travel-ed throug Glacier National Park and into Canada. They visited with Geniel Childs, a former resident of Springville now serving on a mission mis-sion and she sent greetings to her friends here. The trip also included includ-ed a stop at Jackson and a view of the Tetons. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Thorn were host and hostess at a dinner at Homestead Monday evening, the guests including Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thorn and daughter June, Mrs. James A. Thorn and baby Debra. Mr. and Mrs. D,ee Hatch and three daughters have returned from an enjoyable vacation trip to Yellowstone Park. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Forshee and little daughter Pamela have . returned re-turned from a vacation trip to Yellowstone. Mrs. Vernor Dunn and children returned home last week from a two week's visit with her sister and husband, Dr. and Mrs. R. L. Brown at Riverside. They were accompanied- by Mrs. Dunn's father P. D. Jensen of Ephraim. On Tuesday, Tues-day, they went to Ephraim to attend at-tend the funeral of an uncle. |
