Show F. Rulon Nicholes Enters Race for Co. Commissioner F. Rulon Nicholes, former city councilman, church leader and a successful farmer, has announced his candidacy for Utah County r -A " i ': $ i J. I' F. Rulon Nicholes. Commissioner on the Republican ticket. Born in American Fork in 1901, he received his education in the local schools and at the Brigham Young University. He became an active member of the American Farm Bureau in 1922, later served serv-ed as president of the local organization or-ganization for two years and has been a member through the intervening inter-vening years. He was named city councilman under the William S. Storrs administration ad-ministration in 1934-35. During this period he was a member of the board of directors of the American Am-erican Fork Community Hospital. He also served as councilman under un-der Mayor Lloyd B. Adamson in 1936-37, and again under Mayor O. DeVere Wootton in 1944-45. In February 1946 he was called to be bishop of the Fifth ward, a position he held until September 1951. At present he is serving as president of Alpine Stake high priests quorum. During the 27 years he has owned and operated his own farm he has become familiar with the problems of various groups within the county and so feels well qualified qual-ified for the position of commis sioner.
