Utah's parade of homes scheduled to be presented during that week. Gov. Lee Proclaims Sept. 10-18 as National Home Week; Asks Support Governor J. Bracken Lee, Thursday, Thurs-day, proclaimed the week of September Sep-tember 10-18, as National Home IVeek and called upon the citizens of Utah to share in its observance. The Governor's proclamation stated in part, "Home ownership ' is one of the foundations of good citizenship and provides a most desirable environment for the future fu-ture citizens of our communities. The continuing efforts of our home builders in providing new homes for all our people is an outstanding contribution to this end." National Home Week will be observed ob-served in most states of the union and will be celebrated in various ways. In Utah a home show of unprecedented un-precedented size, "The Parade of Homes.:' will be held during the week. Thirty modern model homes will be on display at two different sites. One of these nomas, valued at about $18,000 will be given away. In addition a lot, valued at $3,000 will be awarded to some luckv family. The Utah Home Builders Association, Assoc-iation, one of the nation's oldest, is sponsoring this unique event for the second successive year. The 1954 parade attracted in excess of fifty-thousand visitors. The parade of homes building sites are located on 56th South, below be-low Highland Drive, and on 64th South above State Street. The formal for-mal opening is slated for Saturday, September 10, at 4:30 p.m. |
