Mrs. Joseph Olsen (Louise Childs) and three children, Anna Lou, Gary and Janet, returned to their home in Torrance, Calif., on Wednesday following a ten-day visit with her father, James Childs and sister Margaret King and family and other relatives in this city, and with Mr. Olsen's aprents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olsen Sr., in Salt Lake City. ,who are training at the Marino Corps schools for commissions aa second lieutenants in the Marine Corps. Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Dalton recently re-cently had all their children home at one time, the first such occasion in four years. The Daltons were hosts to their family at a lawn party with the following present: Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Patrick and children of Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Dalton and family, Mrs. Clitha Bright and baby Kim and Karol and Barbara Matsehke. During the evening, pictures of Japan were shown by Lee and Colleen Col-leen Snelson, who recently returned return-ed from that country. guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Boyer. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon ralfreyman entertained Tuesday for Eldon's sister, Mrs. Wilford Olsen and her mother, Mrs. Lydia Palfreyman. Mrs. Olsen's son John was also there. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Peay and daughter and Jena Palfreyman .spent Wednesday through Sunday in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Xielson entertained Mr. Nielson's brother and family from Butte, Montana, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Nielson and children. Monday a dinner was held in their honor. Attending a Naval Reserve Officer Of-ficer Training course July 25 to September 3 at the Marine Corps schools at Quantico, Va., is Midn. Phillip M. Haymond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul M. Haymond of 228 East Eighth South, Springville. Haymond is attending Rensselaer Rensse-laer 'Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. He is one of more than 325 naval reserve officer candidates from 52 colleges across the nation Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ashe raft and son Don drove to Nephi on Thursday to get their daughter Marilyn who had been visiting with Margery Greenhalgh. The two families had a birthday supper sup-per at the park to celebrate Marilyn's Mar-ilyn's eleventh birthday. M r . Greenhalgh is a missionary com- . panion of Mr. Ashcraft. Miss Geniel Ashcraft returned home Friday from Pomona, Calif., where she has been employed the past two months. She stayed at the home of her sister, Nelda I Behrmann. Geniel plans to enroll at the BYU this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Weight and daughter Linda and Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Cluff, Provo, returned Monday night from a four-day trip to Colorado Springs, Colo., I where they visited with the Cluff's son Jerry stationed at Camp Carson, Car-son, and saw several tourist attractions at-tractions including Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, Pike's Peak and the Royal Gorge. The. Thomas Rollins family returned re-turned recently from a trip to Boise, Idaho, where they visited with Mr. Rollin's sister and her family, the Vernon J. Harpers. On their return trip Mr. and Mrs. Rollins stopped in Logan to attend at-tend the wedding of a nephew, David England to Marlene Hart-mann. Hart-mann. pvt. James R. Wiscombe of 208 1 South Fourth West, Springville, is scheduled to complete recruit training during the latter part of Mrs. Floss Cates has had as her guests the past week her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Del-bert Del-bert Croft and their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Croft and two daughters of Avelea, Oregon; also Mrs. Ira Croft of Chico, California.
