Crashing lefts and rights to the Salem heavyweight's heavy-weight's jaw, Pierce slugged him to the floor twice, Davis taking the count of'9 both times. As the bout ended Davis was on the canvas can-vas with three counts against him. Peirce had Davis groggy at the close but plaintly did not want to take advantage, sticking out his chin instead of his fists'. Howe and Sellers received a good hand for their hard-hitting bout. Howe, a greatly improved fighter, struck some jarring blows and utilized his superior weight and l power to win a decision. Sellers likewise got in some telling punches. t |
