Show SOCIETY NEVS Jeune Mere club members were entertained at the home of Mrs. Elaine Parcel lat Provo Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. Card: featured the afternoon entertainment and prizes for the games were awarded to Mrs. Lucille Childs and Mrs. Lucille Lu-cille Hughes. Aaron Johnson camp, D. U. P. will meet with Mrs. Charles Alleman Alle-man Thursday afternoon, February, Feb-ruary, the meeting being previously previous-ly scheduled at the home of Mrs. Christabell Curtis. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Cook entertained en-tertained at a family dinner at their home Sunday in honor of their daughter, Mrs. Clarence Beeton and husband and three children, Betty, Mack and Keith, who are visiting here from Malad, Idaho. Others in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whiting and children, Stewart and Marjorie, Mar-jorie, of Mapleton; Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Jones and children Paul and Irene and Mr. and Mrs. Mark B. Cook. A surprise birthday party was given Friday evening by Mrs. L. S. Haymond at her home in honor of her daughter Erma. The table from which a dainty luncheon was served held a centerpiece of red carnations and red tapers. Games were played and prizes won by Mrs. Glorie Rasmussen and Freeman Free-man Bird. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Russen Bird, Mrs. Gloria Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, Miss Naomi Tipton, Miss Ruth Mendenhall, Miss Betty Sutton Sut-ton of Salt Lake; Frank Brinton, John Murdock of Provo; Rapheal Palfreyman and the guest of honor. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Salisbury left Saturday on a two-weeks' vacation trip to California. Husbands of Home Culture club members entertained at a well arranged party Monday night at Memorial hall club rooms.. An attractive at-tractive and tasty luncheon was served at small tables early in the evening. C. E. Eggertson gave a toast to the ladies; Harrison Conover entertained with two vocal solos in native Tahitian language; lang-uage; and Elmo Coffman also rendered vocal solos. Mrs. Gene Hales was accompanist. Mrs. V. M. Sevy and Mrs. Elmo Coffman won prizes during the evening's games. The guest list included, Dr. and Mrs. John R. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Miss Catherine Tuttle entertained enter-tained a group of friends at a Valentine party at her home, the occasion also being her birthday. A pretty color scheme of red and white was carried out in room and luncheon decorations. The guests included, Phylis Smart, Beth Mendenhall, Venice Whiting, Dama Grant, Elaine Brockbank, Virginia Bird, Elaine Nielson, Velma Olsen, Etta Fullmer, Evelyn Ev-elyn Davis, Maxie Wilkins. Mrs. A. H. Childs entertained at dinner Friday for Mrs. Gibson Sanford who is visiting here from Paul, Idaho. Ather guests were, Mrs. Ella Reynolds, Mrs. Hilda Cherrington, Mrs. Bell Childs and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whiting. The Alpha Beta club will give a party complimentary to their husbands at 7:30 p. m. Saturday at Memorial hall. Mrs. Leona Clark and children ! of Cedar City are guests of Mrs. j Clark's mother, Mrs. Erma Gud-mundsen. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whiting have received word from Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whiting that they will leave New York February 23, and plan to reach Utah in about 10 days, traveling by way of the southern states. The Mothers' Study club meeting meet-ing scheduled to be held Saturday at the home of Mrs. Philda Fin-ley Fin-ley is postponed until Saturday, March 2 at 3 o'clock. Jovalty club members were guests of Mrs. Sarabell Stewart at her home Saturday night. Prizes for "500" were awarded to Miss Wilma Hansen and Miss Luell Straw. A tasty luncheon was served serv-ed early in the evening to, Mrs. Mabel Simkins, Mrs. Clara Childs, Mrs. Madelyn Dispain, Miss Luell Straw, Miss Hilda Clegg, Mrs. Ann Stewart, Mrs. Carrie Tripp, Mrs. Bill Hansen, club members, Miss Wilma Hansen, Mrs. Rowland Hansen, Mrs. Floyd Stewart and Mrs. Blanch Hales, special guests. Miss Marie Rivers entertained at a prettily arranged Valentine party at her home Friday night. Red sweet peas formed an attractive at-tractive centerpiece for the luncheon lunch-eon tables and tallies and place cards were in corresponding colors. Progressive "500" was played and prizes went to Miss Dally Thalman and Miss Edna Starr. The guest list included, Miss Josephine Mc-Kenzie, Mc-Kenzie, Les Brown of Provo, Miss Marie Simkins, Carl Weight, Miss Edna Starr, Warwick Palfreyman, Helen Wheeler, Virgil Ostlor, Dally Thalman. Roe Thorn, Bus Tipton and the hostess. . Mr. and Mrs. E. Lovell Ostler were entertained at a dinner Friday Fri-day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lovell Ostler, Jr., the occasion being their twenty-fourth wedding anniversary. An attractive attract-ive floral piece and candles formed form-ed the table piece and covers were laid for a large group of relatives and friends. |
