Show Gehrig Signs 1935 Contract NEW YORK, Feb. 19 U.E Lou Gehrig, New York Yankees' first baseman and outstanding player in the American League, today agreed to terms for his 1935 '. salary and signed his contract, j Col. Jacob Kuppert, Yankee I Owner, made no mention of the salary, but baseball men generally believed he received a substantial incrasc over last year's $23,000. It was understood that the club 1 offered $27,000, that Gehrig asked for $35,000, and probably com- promised on $30,000. |
