Show ON UTAH COUNTY FARMS WITH EXTENSION AGENTS I "The 4-H club activities at the , 1932 state fair will be concluded with a luncheon, which will be held in the dining room of the New-house New-house hotel Friday, October 7. A special feature of this luncheon will 'be the announcing of winners of the different contests and the presenting of special awards." 4-H CLUB ACTIVITIES Community fairs are being held throughout Utah county in the various communities and the 4-H club activities are finding a prominent prom-inent place in these shows and in some places are sponsoring these community fairs. The same can be said of the 4-H activities throughout through-out the state. Activities among Utah 4-H club members are now centering around the 1932 state fair to be held at Salt Lake City, October 1 to 8. It is at the state fair that .hose who have dreamed of being pronounced champion demonstrator, demonstra-tor, showman, herdsman, dressmaker dress-maker or fruit-preserver, learn whether or not their dreams will materialize. It is at the state fair that two boys and two girls will be chosen to represent Utah at the Pacific International Livestock show at Portland later in the fall; one girl i is selected to receive a valuable prize for her" outstanding work in! canning and a phi is chosen to rep- resent Utah at the National Club1 congiess in Chicago, by virtue of j her excellency in dressmaking. No wonder approximately 5500 of I Utah's younger set are enthusiast-1 ic over winning their way to the I fair hy displaying superior animals showing their ability to demonstrate, demon-strate, can or cook. After D. P. Murray, state club leader, returned from visiting many of the clubs in the state, he predicted predict-ed that the 4-H club section ,at the 1932 state fair would far excell any previous section both from the standpoint of quantity and quality. "All over the slate I find boys grooming animals, girls sewing, canning or studying health charts in preparation for the state contests," con-tests," Mr. Murray reported. j |
