Show j Community Fair Opens At Springville High Friday With Many Fine Exihbits H ' - t Everything is in readiness for .he" annual Springville community n 2ir Friday at the high school. In-" In-" dioations are that a large variety 1 of produce, needlework household i'i articles, and livestock will be on evtiibit this year. 1 'Beginning at 8 a. m. the display will continue until 9 p. m. with the i exception of the livestock which ffiH be taken from the campus at 6 o'clock. Judging will take place at it 10 a. m. - In order to not progress made in various industrial activities of IB ihe community, those articles which have taken ribbons on pre- vious exhibits will not be judged :i (or ribbons again this year, it is 0; stated. This ruling applies especial-I especial-I ly to needlework demonstrations. l However everything will be appre-m appre-m dated by the committees for the t display. The livestock display will prove especially interesting this year, it IS, is .slated with a large number of cattle, sheep and poultrymen having signified their intention of making entries. J charge of t'ne poultry and pet department,, de-partment,, the Utah Poultry Association Asso-ciation is offering a sack of lay- tag mash for the best pen of laying i pullets, while Smart's Feed store I offers a sack of mash for the best Den of laying hens, a year old or tver, and 50 pounds of rolled barley ii offered by -the Utah Poultry asso-fiat asso-fiat ion for the best pen of rabbits. 5?l Five chicken and four rabbits will ronptitute a pen. R. J. Jex and the J( Globe Feed .store will also contribute con-tribute a sack of mash each to be 1 Distributed among prize winners. ,h In the flower show a Boston fern is offered this year by the Spring- " ville floral to the person receiving Tijj flie largest number of blue ribbons. J An attractive and probably out- II itanding event of the fair will be ,i the horsepulling contests on the , campus at 3:30 p. m. A cash prize ' irf $25 will be distributed among A Ihe. winners with $12 for first; $8, '1 w-iond place and $5 for third place. W 1 The 4-H Sewing clubs will be well li represented in the exhibits this year; with each girl of the two or-1( or-1( ganizations in the community, en- tering two or more articles which tiiey have made during the summer. ! ' A" invitation is extended the gen-!-al public by officers of the local ( farm bureau and committeemen to " uuend the fair and also enter any-tiling any-tiling which may add to the success of the project.
