Masbate, Sorsogan, P. I. Aug, 7, '08. Dear Mr. Jensen: After having a most pleaMnt trip from Spanish Fork to the Philippine Islands, and being assigned to MMbate in the province of Sorsogan, I now find myself enjoying the climate and the conditions in the tropica. We find these natives suffering greatly from their lazineM when in the school room where they have to do what we tell them. But they all want to be educated for clerks or bookkeepers so that they can sit in an office in their Sunday clothes all the time. This rule has a few exceptions, and these want lots of work and lots of servants to do it They are very easy going and think nothing about tomorrow and very little about today. Within twenty rods of my house there are eight' or native stores, and one could buy them all for $10 and still they all make a living from it may concern: The readers of The Press will remember certain circular letters which were distributed in this cityjsome time ago over the nomdepiume of "Juror" which Moroni Hicka stated through The Presa that he had written.
