Show VICT10FUGHT1G Paul Danvers Rendered Unconscious by Bolt During Storm. . f Paul Danvers, 22 years old, an employee of the Paramount laundry, euffe-red temporary tem-porary paralysis and was rendered un-cor.scious un-cor.scious when a bolt struck a wringer by which he was standing with his hands on a brass stufiding, during the electrical storm which visited Salt Lake yesterday. Me was revived at the emergency hospital and soon recovered from the paralysis. Some property damage was reported from over the city. Lightning tore a hole through the roof of the front porch at the residence of George Graham, IflT Past street, wrecking wreck-ing the lighting system in the house and at two neighboring places. A two-by-four timber was splintered and three si::-Inch joists were shattered when the bolt struck wires connecting the light globe on the front poich. The cord on a bedroom light was burned in two and the dining room switch torn from the wall by the shock. No one In the house was injured, though Mr. and Mrs. Graham and the four children chil-dren were eating lunch 'In the kitchen when Ihe shock came. Six street cars in various parts of the city were rendered useless when bolts struck the trolley wire and, passing through the trolley to the controller, either disconnected armatures or broke the controllers, con-trollers, so it was necessary to haul the cars to the repair shops. The Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph Tele-graph company report no damage was sustained by wires, other than that which occurs in the common electrical disturbances disturb-ances in the locality. |
