Show tures, the sales manager of this company had the following to say: "The George Cutter company of South Bend, IrwL, has the distinction of being1 the oldest manufacturers manu-facturers of incandescent lighting equipment equip-ment in the entire country. Not only are these manufacturers iron founders, but they are illuminating and electrical engineers en-gineers as well. This makes it possible for them to manufacture the entire equipment equip-ment used in the 'Cutter system at the one mammoth plant. In this way uniformity uni-formity and perfect harmony throughout are assured. "One distinctive feature of the 'Cutter' line is the disconnecting pot head which is a part of each unit. This, device is used for clamping together the lead and steel coverings of the cables and connecting connect-ing them to the ground through the base of the post of the ground support. It haa a two-pioce porcelain body so arranged that, in the event of the breakage of a post, the upper part of the pot head is pulled off, thus disconnecting the wires in the post from the underground system, which transmits power at a voltage which would endanq-er the lives of pedestrians or vehicle drivers coming in contact with them in the event that post was broken. Also provision is made for the re-establishment of t lie circuit through contacts in the lower part of the pothead, with the result that the remaining lamps in the system continue in operation. "The 'Cutter' disconnectine pothead is not only important as a safety-first device, de-vice, but it saves its cost many times over in reduced 'trouble-shooting' expense. " 'Cutter" posts are nade of the best quality of gray iron, the recognized standard stand-ard materiaj for ornamental posts. These posts will not corrode like steel posts, chip like cement posts, nor become dented like sheet-metal posts. Another advantage is that they cannot be injured by ordinary street traffic. Besides, there are many other features which make the 'Cutter' post preferable to others."
