Show SALT LAKER UNHURT IN SEVEN BATTLES Sergeant Elgin Butte, late of the First machine-gun battalion of the First division, divi-sion, son of Mrs. Annie Butte, 319 Stanton Stan-ton avenue, returned to Salt Lake yesterday, yes-terday, after having served through the Beven major engagements in which the American expeditionary force fought. He took part in the fighting on the Toul I sector, tit Cantigny, on the Saverain sector, at Montdidler, in two battles of I the Meuse-Argon ne offensive, in the j Aisne-Marne campaign and at St. Mihiel. ; He came through all of these un-; un-; scathed in his twenty-one months of I overseas service. Sergeant Butte enlisted enlist-ed in Salt Lake. He is now at the residence resi-dence of his sister, Mrs. V. E. Mo wry. Previous to entering the army, Sergeant Butte was a blacksmith. |
