Show NEW SILVER STRIKE HmiEJEf. Black Metals Mine to Install In-stall More Machinery at Early Date. High-grade ore, which lies in a fissunre vein twenty-four inches wide and which assays 100 ounces in silver with good values in copper and lead, has been struck on the SOO-foot level of the Black Metals mine in the Jackrabblt district near Ploche, Nev,, according to information received re-ceived yesterday from the mine by G. W. Snyder, general manager. Mr. Snyder recently arrived in the city from Pioche. This strike has been made in a new raise from the 800 level which headed for virgin vir-gin ground and towards six favorable lime beds known to exist above. It is this aspect of the strike, according to Mr. Snyder, that makes the recent find all the more favorable, for it is expected that in these lime beds the vein will develop de-velop into extensive bodies of valuable ore. A considerable tonnage of shipping ore has been opened up in overhead stopes on the 900-foot level. On the 700-foot level a good grade of shipping ore is being opened up with the face of the draft showing intermittent streaks of high-grade high-grade ore. The upper levels, from which most of the shipping ore has been mined during 1 the past two months, are in good shape for production, it Is sa id." I,urge ore bodies are being blocked out as the work is carried forward. During the month of June 1300 tons of ore were shipped. The expectation is that during July, with the installation of new equipment, the tonnage ton-nage shipped will be 1700 or 1800 tons, and with a further increase during the month of August. New machinery, consisting of an oil-burning oil-burning engine and a five-drill compressor, compres-sor, has recently been purchased 'and will be installed immediately, says Mr. .Snyder. .Sny-der. This equipment installed, in addition addi-tion to the fifty horsepoyer plant already on the property, is expected to augment shipments to a considerable extent-Mining extent-Mining operations in the Pioche district dis-trict are. in a flourishing condition, it is said. A great denl of prospecting is being be-ing done and shippers are maintaining or exceeding their past records of production. |
