Toasts were iveti by various guests during tho lauiueL liour, after which an informal program was rendered by the children of Mr. and Mrs. Bennion I and others. Mr. iiennion was born in Iowa, January Jan-uary 3, IN47, whilo his parents were ji on their way to Utah with the pioneers. Mrs. Iiennion was born in Taylorsville . August Jo, 1851!, her maiden nairie be- ing Eli.a Ann Ifarker. fcdie is a daughtiT of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jo-peph Jo-peph Harker, who arrived in the valley July 24, 1S47. Mr. Bennion 's parents were Mr. and Airs. Samuel Bennion, his mother's ;. maiden naieo being Mary Bushel. Mr. and Mrs. Bennion were married .in the endowment house in fSalt Lake December 13, 1800, by the late Daniel H. "Wells. Two years later Mr. Bennion Ben-nion was married to Miss Mary Kar-ren. Kar-ren. Vroni these unions seven sons and daughters were born to each wife. Twelve children are living, together with forty-six grandchildren. Mr. Bennion Ben-nion s parents moved to Taylorsvillie in 1S-1P, and tho family has since resided re-sided there Mr. Bennion has been active in both church and civil affairs. Up to 1S91 he whs in the cattle and sheep business, busi-ness, when, with his sons, he entered mercantile) and milling pursuits in -Murray, later building a liyht and power plant on the banks of the Jordan river, which supplied the. lighting system for the Taylorsville ward until a year ago, when the plant was sold. |
