Show TO WED BEST MAN AT FIRST MARRIAGE Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Maude , Betrothed to Lord William Fraser. LONDON, Dec. 33. (By the Associated Press. ) The engagement of Mrs. Pamela Congreve, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Maude, to Major the Hon. William Fraser lias just been announced. Mrs. Cosgreve Is the widow of Captain William L. Cosgreve, Cos-greve, tile only son of Sir Walter and Uuly Congreve, who was killed in the war after winning the Victoria cross, the distinguished service order and the military mili-tary cross. Mrs. Congreve was a war bride. In less than two months after her marriage she became a widow. King George and Queen Mary showed their sympathy for her in characteristic fashion. They received re-ceived her privately at Buckingham palace, pal-ace, where she received the orders that her gallant husband had won. Queen Mary acted -ns godmother for the baby girl that was born the following spring. Major Fraser, to whom she is now engaged, en-gaged, was best man at her first wedding, wed-ding, and Is the son of Lord and Lady Saltoun. Mr. and Mrs. Maude, Mrs. Congreve's parents, are well known in America. Where both are stage favorites and where they have a wide social acquaintance. |
