Show SMALL GRASS FIRES EXPLODE BIG SHELLS Vagrant Missiles Are Still Proving a Great Menace in Devastated Districts of Fiance. l.AON. France. Deo. 13. By the Associated Asso-ciated Pross.i, Residents of the devastated devastat-ed districts of France are still fleeing from the bursts of shell nnd shrapnel. The new menace is caused by the small grass and swamp fires which frennently set off the shells that have been piled up to be hauled away and exploded In some safe place. Major H. C. Greene of Boston, Mass.. had a thrilling ride and narrowly escaped a hail of shrapnel on his way from St. Q uen tin to La on, as a result of one of these fires.
