Show LB TURNS IN LmeSGDHE Eight Ogden and Eight Salt Lake Golfers Qualify for Tourney. Salt Lake golfers yesterday had the elements against them In the qualifying round of the state golf championship, but, nevertheless, enough sharks turned out to assure the local club of a goodly representation rep-resentation In the championship flight. Eight Salt Lakers qualified, and a like number from Ogden also turned in low enough medal scores to permit their entering the first flight. At Ogden forty-four golfers took advantage ad-vantage of the good weather to try and make places for themselves in the first sixteen. Only eight of these forty-four were successful, however. H. B, Lamb of Salt Lake turned in the lowest medal score of the day, with a 77, while R. W. Salisbury, also a local golfer, was second, "with a 7a. The eight first-round matches will he placed this morning at the local club. The second-round matches can be played at any time during the week most convenient con-venient for the participants, and over either the Salt Lake or Ogden course. Today's pairings follow: H. B. Lamb vs. F. O. Janney, A. V. McCornlck vs. L. A. Ray, Burlett Wicks vs. R. G. Smith. W. A. Larkins vs. T. Gilmer. A. G. Horn vs. AV. R. Kimball, F. W. Baker vs. P. B. Keyser, H. C. Mar-chant Mar-chant vs. YV. Arthur, II, Leek vs. R. W. Salisbury. |
