Show RABBIT SKINS, t The United States department of agriculture ag-riculture is out with an announcement that there will be an unprecedented demand de-mand this winter for rabbit skins. One eastern hat-mnking concern alone will' need 10,000,00n rabbit pelts, and it desires de-sires to get as many of them in this country as possible. The department sees in this industry an inviting field for farmer boys and others, who may not only profit bv taking rabbits, but also enjoy the experience ex-perience of trapping. It is possible that the vast numbers of rabbits in Utah and Nevada, which in many sections are regarded as a great and costly pest, may now be turned to account. If interested per sons, by communication with the department, de-partment, reieive assurance that collecting col-lecting rabbit pelts can be made actually actual-ly a reasonably gainful occupation, there is no doubt that numerous hunters hunt-ers in rabbit-infested regions of the west will hasten to engage in it. Participants in "rabbit drives" in recent winters report that, no matter how many animals aro taken, there never seems to be any diminution of numbers. It would not be far from fact to say that Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Wyoming can supply tho liat mak-ers mak-ers of the world with rabbit skins for years to come. |
