Durinj? t lie past week the East high Leopards trounced their hitter rival, the Panthers, ftO to 0, in tie most one-sided game between the two schools since the Institutions huve met in gridiron contests. fon i my Fltzpatiick'a boys put up a great exhibit ion and there Is little doubt in t lie minds of fans as to whMi is the best eleven in this section. The Leopard's victory over Payson earlier in the year practically put the country schools out of the running for the state title, because the Utah county team stands out as the champ in that section. The Leopards take on Granite this week Jf? probably Sal urday. b I Cum miners field. This game should he a fairly easy battle for the Leopards, but one can't ever tell. Several of the farmer rooters have risked an opinion that the Granitfans will win. Granite has been coming- strong of late. The team, has a bunch of hard workers and Coach Van Pelt gts all they possess in every game. The farmers should do well against the Leonards, despite th apparently overwhelming odds against' them. The Leopards gn to Butte on Thanksgiving Thanks-giving day, providing the Butte authorities authori-ties no not change their minds in the meantime. There has been some talk in the Montana city of cancelling the game, but the local players are hoping for a favorable fa-vorable decision for the trip. The Panthers will end their league season sea-son with a Davis county game next Friday Fri-day at Kaysville. The Panthers are expected ex-pected to win. The Kaysville boys have not won a game this year. The late start of school put a big handicap on the. players play-ers in competing with other schools. Jordan goes to Ogden Friday. Coach Hamilton has a classy eleven and ranks well up in the -.standing. The team ha si been going better of late, and should not have much trouble with the Junction city eleven. |
