Show OFFICERS AND MEN AT FORT DOUGLAS WILL AID CAMPAIGN Plans for 'a vigorous campaign among the officers and men at Fort Douglas for oluntao' subscriptions to the second issue is-sue of Liberty loan bonds were outlined at a meeting of officers held at headquarters head-quarters yesterday morning. Colonel Alfred Hasbronck, post commander, com-mander, started the campaign off .with a subscription of $500. which will be counted to the credit of the headquarters company com-pany of the Twentieth infantry in the Liberty bond competition that 'is to be held between the various units of the post garrison. The campaign is. to be conducted on the competitive ha sis. There will be a competition between each company organization, or-ganization, a competition between " each battalion organization of each regiment and. finally, a competition between the three infantry regiments ' to see which will make the largest showing in the way of subscriptions. Glen Miller, member of the local Liberty Lib-erty bond executive committee, was present pres-ent at the meeting . held at post headquarters head-quarters yesterday and addressed the officers, of-ficers, explaining in detail the installment install-ment plan for paying for the bonds which has been offered the officers and sol-1 sol-1 diers of the army. Addresses were also made on the subject by Colonel Alfred Ha.sbrouck and Captain' E. M. Norton, post adjutant. Plans of Commanders. In the end they get back all they Invest and interest, too, which gives them a nice, nest egg when they return from tho war. Should any not return from the war, they have something some-thing to leave to those left behind. The campaign for subscriptions among the officers and men will be inaugurated at once, and the first report of progress is expected to be made by the various battalion commanders today. As an evidence of his interest In the matter. Colonel Hasbrouck, as post commander, com-mander, subscribed for $"i00 worth of the bonds on the spot. Practically all of the officers at the post have signified their intention of subscribing to the bonds. A conference of Forty-third infantry officers relative to the Liberty bond subscriptions among officers and "men of the regiment was held yesterday morning at headquarters of the regiment. Mr. Knight of the executive committee explained ex-plained the subscription scheme to the officers. On next Saturday momiiig the officers of the regiment will explain the matter to the enlisted men and on Monday next Mr. Knight will again talk to the officers on the subject.
