Miss .Tea net te Rankin, representative in congress con-gress from Montana, was among those who heard the debate in the Minnesota senate today on a bill granting statutory suffrage to women. T-ater Miss Rankin addressed the senate sen-ate from the president's chalrl the first woman ever accorded that privilege. "A woman in congress is just like a big suffrage banner on constant parade," she said. "We believe that eastern men will be reminded that If they are not careful the first thing they know they will be ruled by western women instead of their own women." Miss Rankin was escorted to the senate chamber by Governor Burnquist. The senators greeted her heartily. |
