Show CONTRACTORS TOLD TO EXPEDITE WORK City Engineer Sends. Orders for Quick Action After Next Monday on Municipal Contracts. Notice to start work by April 1 has been served by City Engineer Sylvester Q. Cannon on all contractors having unfinished un-finished contracts with the city. Already men have been sent to the Parley 's "canyon dam by Parrott Brothers, Broth-ers, the contractors, to prepare for opening open-ing constructive work on the dam as soon as the weather will ' Termit. It-present It-present conditions continue this will be within a fortnight, the city engineer bo- Completion of the dam will rerpjire probably two months of time. It is expected, however, that it will be done in time to impound and store some of the summer and fall run-off that flows down Parley's creek. The order to begin work by April 1 is directed especially to contractors having hav-ing the work of paving on North State and Second North streets; Third West street, between Sixth and Eighth South streets; Twenty-first rtouth street, between be-tween Fifth and Ninth East streets; Fourth Sonth and Eighth East streets, and Twelfth East street and Michigan and Herbert avenues. Most of the work of each extension is completed, and the purpose is to finish it entirely and put it in proper shape immediately. |
