The freshies won from the sophs, 3 to 2, while the juniors trimmed' the seniors S to 7. Both vic-.'torioirs vic-.'torioirs nines won the game iri the last inning. -. With both Peake of the sophs and Ny-berg Ny-berg of the freshies pitching airtight ball, the first game remained 2. to 2 after the third frame until the final inning. Vahrenkamp singled to center and went to . second when Evans let the ball go through his legs. He stole third and Hall., in an attempt to catch V-ahren-Uanin, threw over Barker's head and the winning run tallied. The freshies made their first run at the start when Nyberg doubled and scored on successive errors by Peake and Clark. The sophs tied the count in the second when Everett's error . let Evans go to second. He went to third on a passed ball and tallied on Clark's hit. , Both teams scored in the third. Passer doubled to left and scored when Nyberg threw wild. The freshies made their run on James's triple to right and Cushing's infield out. A good chance for a soph run in the seventh was foozled. Nathan reached first on a fielder's choice. Brown sent a long hit to center, but Nathan stopped at- third, when he could have scored. v.ifrrnTi erarter? for the innlors and was touched for four earned runs. : Davis succeeded Kaufman and held the seniors scoreless after they counted twice in the second and oiice in the third. Bell pitched well at times, but was slammed for two runs in the first, four In the third and one each in the sixth and seventh. Only three runs could be charged to his pitching, and, with good support, he should have had an easy win. The winning run was scored by Kaufman, Kauf-man, who started out with a single, went to third on Fa dentine's double and tallied tal-lied on Brown's single to right. Kaufman and Taylor starred at the bat, while Axelrad performed admirably in the field. Today's games will end the series.
